There's a place, I've heard them say
Over the Rainbow Bridge and I'm going today
And they say: “everything is gonna be OK”
I guess I must be getting old
I can't run no more and I really feel the cold
I don't hear so good no more so I don't always do exactly what I am told
But I still do my jobs each day
I bark at the mailman until he goes away
And I watch over the kids and their friends in the back yard when they play
They gave me food and took me out
They always asked me “who's a good boy?”. But I never found out
And that time I chewed up their pillows man they just about freaked out
When I get where I'm going today
I will run again, they say, I can play outside all day
And they are all gonna join me down at the Rainbow Bridge, someday
I hope it's good across the Rainbow Bridge
I hope it's everything they say
Cos I heard them say they're gonna put me down there today
They stroked my head, and said: “everything is gonna be OK”.
